New rates announced for statutory payments

Increases to the rates of statutory sick pay (SSP) and the prescribed rate for statutory maternity pay (SMP), statutory paternity pay (SPP) and statutory adoption pay (SAP) have now been announced and will apply from April 2012. The new rates are:

  • £135.45 for SMP, SPP and SAP, increased from £128.73 per week
  • £85.85 for SSP, increased from £81.60 per week.

The weekly earnings threshold for the statutory payments also rises from £102 to £107.
