Aviation joins the EU Emissions Trading Scheme

Regulations bringing aviation at least partially within the scope of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme have now been made. Aircraft operators can apply for free allowances initially, with an emissions plan. Monitoring and reporting obligations for CO2 emissions are introduced.
