Burges Salmon clear contender for renewables Advisor of the Year
21 September 2011
A multi-disciplinary team representing the best of Burges Salmon's construction, planning, procurement, real estate, project finance and regulation expertise has been shortlisted for the national Renewable Energy Infrastructure Awards 2011, sponsored by leading industry publications New Civil Engineer and Materials Recycling Week. The team's submission for the UK 'Advisor of the Year' category detailed the work they have delivered on behalf of three significant clients in the renewables sector; Helius Energy plc, RES and New Earth Solutions.
The firm is in excellent company on the shortlist alongside Eversheds, Clifford Chance and Ernst & Young among others. The winning firm will be announced at the award ceremony on 10th November at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.
Partner Will Gard who led on the recent Helius CoRDe deal says: "In the last six months alone Burges Salmon’s Energy & Utilities Team has closed two flagship deals in the field of renewable energy and extended its already considerable expertise in consenting wind projects. This marks the latest chapter in a legacy of renewable infrastructure achievements which we have helped to shape over more than a decade, in partnership with industry. The fact that we are so fully embedded in this sector – and that we have pushed boundaries further still during 2010/11 - makes us the natural choice for Advisor of the Year."
