Our Renewable Energy Team brings together experts from various departments of the firm to provide clients with advice on:
- biomass
- bio-fuels
- gasification
- hydrogen/fuel cells
- pyrolysis
- wind power
- wave and tidal power
The team assists developers on UK and international projects in assessing the risks and understanding the issues which need to be addressed to bring a renewables plant to fruition including advising on the bank-ability of schemes.
Our agri-business and environmental links allow us to understand and advise on complicated landowner arrangements and, in terms of biomass and bio-fuels, crop co-operatives and crop/fuel supply arrangements.
We can advise on planning issues (including s36 Electricity Act applications), financial support mechanisms such as the Renewables Obligation and NFFO, procurement of construction and engineering services, land acquisition and project finance. Our Health and Safety team also has experience of advising on the regulatory framework for safety relating to both onshore and offshore projects.
