We have been selected to work with the London Development Agency (LDA). We have been appointed to a panel that includes seven other UK law firms.

The procurement process enabled the LDA to rationalise the list of firms on its panel from 18 to 8 in an effort to improve efficiency and cut costs.

The firms on the LDA's new panel will advise the in-house legal team on all areas of law including:

Debbie Adams, Director of Law and Governance at the LDA, said:

"We are delighted to have received so many applications and to have been able to select such a strong panel to advise us in building on our commitment to better corporate governance and delivering improved services for Londoners."

The LDA is responsible for driving London's sustainable economic growth, producing the Mayor's Economic Development Strategy for London and working with partners from industry, and the public and third sectors.

Marcus Harling, LDA Lead Partner at Burges Salmon said:

The appointment is a significant win for Burges Salmon and underscores our role as one of the UK’s leading public sector law firms. It's great to stand out in this sector within the region, but it’s particularly important that we’re able to secure work like this in the Capital. The LDA appointment builds upon our existing work for London Fire Brigade and The Metropolitan Police, which, with the LDA, are members of the Greater London Authority family. I am sure there will be further top level appointments like this as we continue to grow.”
