Experience

Advising a national charity in connection with a world-famous annual large scale event in relation to restrictive conditions on the Premises Licence, including liaising with regulators and review of suitable commercial options to ensure regulatory compliance.

Acting for the University of Bristol in connection with their suite of Club Premises Certificates and Premises Licences across their licensed portfolio, including various applications, strategic advice and negotiating with the regulatory authorities.

Advising The Crown Estate in connection with its London licensed premises portfolio, including licensing regulatory compliance, applications and real estate development issues.

Acting for large festival and outdoor event organisers, advising on contractual and licensing issues, including commercial negotiations with third parties and regulators.

Acting for a large logistics business in connection with vehicle ‘O’ licensing compliance issues, a hearing in front of the Traffic Commissioner and O licence applications and strategic advice.

Acting for a new restaurant premises in connection with a successful application for a new alcohol and entertainment premises licence in a Cumulative Impact Zone, which included representing the client at licensing committee hearing.

Advising a hotel chain on the licensing issues arising across a number of licensing regimes in connection with the purchase of multiple licensed premises.

Advising a football club in connection with alcohol and entertainment licence issues and options in relation to changes to operations and site layout.

Acting for a new racecourse in connection with its applications for both a new alcohol and entertainment premises licence and new track betting premises licence which involved extensive negotiations with the regulatory authorities (including local authority, police and Gambling Commission).

Advising a chain of garden centres on an audit of the licences in place across a number of licensing regimes in relation to multiple licensed premises, including a review of licence compliance issues and transfer issues in relation to a corporate sale.

Acting for a national charity in connection with a review of the licensing regulatory position in connection with transport operations at a number of its sites.

Completing a licensing audit for a national museum located at multiple sites across the UK, specifically reviewing licences held by the museum against regulatory requirements.
