03 September 2015

A team of financial technology (fintech) sector experts from Burges Salmon will be attending the Fintech Week 2015 Conference from 14 to 20 September in London.

Burges Salmon's FinTech lawyers recognise that the sector is complex, driven by constantly evolving technology and subject to layers of overlapping regulation on a global scale. The team has the legal expertise to help the clients it advises launch, fund and grow their business.

The team is able to draw on the knowledge and insight of the firm's Corporate, Commercial, Banking and Financial Service Regulation teams as standard, but its overall capabilities are much wider still and include the firm's Disputes, Intellectual Property, Competition, Real Estate, Pensions and Employment teams as business needs require.

The Burges Salmon Fintech team works with businesses at all stages, from initial concept to successful exit. It helps businesses with fundraising, sale and IPO – we also support them on all stages in between: negotiating key contracts, incentivising employees, moving premises, complying with regulatory requirements, protecting IP and launching, and defending, claims.

At Fintech Week 2015, Burges Salmon will be hosting a start-up clinic at its stand (#2 in the Exhibition Room) on Thursday 17 September from 11.00 – 12.00 and 14.00 – 15.00. The clinic will provide practical advice and tips for those starting a fintech business. The team will also be delivering a presentation at 10.50 on Thursday 17 September in the Conference Room which will provide an overview of the key aspects Fintech businesses should consider through their lifecycle, from start-up to exit.

Please feel free to come and talk to the team on stand #2.
