Burges Salmon partner shortlisted at Citywealth Powerwomen Awards

Head of the Private Wealth sector group, Beatrice Puoti, has been shortlisted in the Inspirational Woman of the Year category at the forthcoming Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2017.

14 July 2016
Highlighting the female leaders of today and tomorrow, the Citywealth Powerwomen Awards champions women in the wealth sector and celebrates female leadership and wider diversity. Now in their fourth year, the Awards will reward those organisations and individuals that are recognised by peers and clients as demonstrating excellence under a series of predetermined criteria. The awards spotlight individuals and companies who support care giving responsibilities, female leadership, and celebrate diversity.

The Powerwomen Awards 2017 will therefore recognise both individuals and companies who maximise the potential of women in wealth, and will also create a platform for best practice to collectively exercise positive social influence on the sector.

Beatrice Puoti said: “It is an honour to be shortlisted for this award and feature alongside such a distinguished list of individuals. I wish all of them the very best of luck and I look forward to the awards ceremony at the beginning of next year. We at Burges Salmon value a diverse workforce and the contribution that each individual makes to the firm. Our culture is open and collaborative and the firm promotes an inclusive working environment, so that we continue to recruit, retain and motivate the highest calibre of people across the business."

Diversity and inclusion are integral to Burges Salmon's people strategy. The values set out in that strategy underpin all that the firm does. The firm's Diversity and Inclusion group is tasked with supporting the delivery of the strategy and meets on a regular basis to ensure priorities are being met. The group is chaired by a partner, Liz Dunn, and the firm's chief people officer, Robert Halton, is a member.

Burges Salmon's announcement in May 2016 of five new partners comprised 75% females: Burges Salmon continues growth with five new partner appointments.

All category winners will be announced on Wednesday 8 February 2017 at the Powerwomen Awards gala dinner, which will recognise individuals (both men and women) and companies and who maximise the potential of women and whom collectively exercise positive social influence to support gender and diversity programmes.

Beatrice Puoti was named Lawyer of the Year at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2015 and also named in Eprivateclient’s 50 Most Influential 2015.
