Andrew is head of the firm’s banking and finance team and also leads its corporate restructuring and insolvency practice.

Andrew has extensive experience in advising on domestic and cross-border distressed situations. He has advised numerous investors, companies, management teams, insolvency practitioners, regulators and pensions trustees in relation to debt and equity restructurings, contingency planning and formal insolvency in the public and private sector. Andrew is a Fellow of INSOL International and a member of the ILA and Insol Europe. He is also recognised as a leading practitioner in Who’s Who Legal for Restructuring & Insolvency 2024.

Experience
  • Advised FRP Advisory, Wasps Holdings Limited and the ACL Companies on the administration of the Wasps Holdings Group including the sale of the Coventry Building Society Arena and matters relating to Wasps RFC.
  • Acted for Interpath, as joint administrators of Cash Processing Solutions.
  • Advised FTI Consulting, as joint administrators, on the administration and sale of Cote Restaurants to a buyer backed by Partners Group.
  • Advised PwC, as joint administrators of C4C 2022 Limited, on the administration and sale of Frugi, the children’s clothing retailer.
  • Advised Bakers + Baristas on its CVA.
  • Advised Adelie Foods throughout its accelerated M&A process and subsequently advised administrators from Deloitte on a number of asset sales.
  • Advised the Group and subsequently Administrators from FRP Advisory on a restructuring including the trading administration of aerospace composite manufacturer, Tods Aerospace, resulting in the sale of part of the business to Cobham.
  • Advising the lenders of a £22m project finance facility on the restructuring of a biomass plant involving an administration and subsequent credit bid of the borrower.
  • Acting for the administrators of a national gym franchising group on the sale of its business and assets to a management-led team.
  • Advised BDO LLP, as joint administrators, on the administration of Bathstore.com Limited, including the sale of the business to Homebase Rooms Limited.
  • Advised Irish Private Equity Fund, Causeway Capital Partners, on its purchase of the business and assets of Patisserie Valerie out of administration.
  • Acted as conflicts counsel to the joint administrators of a £500m portfolio of Hilton hotels.
  • Acted for the FSCS as representative creditor in the High Court and Court of Appeal hearings relating to the implementation of a CVA.
  • Acted for Agent Provocateur in connection with its pre-pack administration sale and the subsequent wind down and restructuring of the group’s international business located across 19 countries.
  • Acted for a lender in connection with a debt and equity restructuring of a UK energy from waste power project.
  • Advised an investor in connection with a £60m debt and equity restructuring of a UK manufacturer including a £27.5m new money facility.
  • Acted for an owner of a biomass combined heat and power plant, in connection with its negotiations with its lenders and its ultimate distressed transfer to a listed environmental infrastructure fund.
  • Acted for an owner of a biomass power plant, in connection with its negotiations with stakeholders and ultimate distressed transfer to a subsidiary of an institutional investor in renewable generation assets.
  • Advising Grant Thornton, as joint administrators, on the administration of Quinn Radiators Limited, including the sale of part of the business to Rettig ICC Limited
