Overview

Crispin is a director in the pensions team. He qualified in 1993 and joined the firm in 2014 having previously been a partner at a City of London firm. 

Crispin advises trustees and employers in the private and public sectors on a broad range of pensions issues, including transactional work, scheme documentation and all aspects of the day-to-day running of pension schemes.

Crispin has designed and led trustee and member representative training workshops and presented to the Institute of Directors. He is a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and is qualified in England and Wales and in Northern Ireland.

Experience
  • Advises trustees and employers in relation to liability management projects, including closure to accrual, pension increase exchange and enhanced transfer value exercises.
  • Has acted for trustees and employers in relation to the threatened issue and actual issue of warning notices by the Pensions Regulator.
  • Advises relation to the buy-in and buy-out of schemes and their winding up. 
  • Has acted for administering authorities and admission bodies in all aspects of outsourcing arrangements, including the negotiation of contractual risk, admission agreements, bonds, guarantees and indemnities.
  • Advises employers and trustees in relation to restructuring projects and sales and acquisitions.
  • During a career break Crispin built and managed a holiday rental business in the rainforest of Costa Rica.
