Euan is chair of the energy, power and utilities sector group co-ordinating a large team of award-winning lawyers who understand not only where the sector is today, but also where it will be tomorrow. The group's reputation is built upon first-of-a-kind projects in all the key technologies and activities in the sector: nuclear, renewables, oil and gas, energy regulation, energy storage, waste and water.

Euan also sat on the Scottish Renewables Offshore Wind Strategy Group during an active period in the growth of the UK’s offshore wind industry.

Within the renewable energy sphere, Euan’s team has transacted over 1,000 deals for developers, investors and funders in relation to various clean technologies including onshore wind, offshore wind, biomass, wave, tidal, hydro, solar, geothermal, anaerobic digestion and energy from waste. He also represents a number of clients in relation to smart grid, demand response and battery storage projects.  

Euan has the unique distinction of being able to practice in all three jurisdictions within the United Kingdom: England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. He is head of the Scottish and Northern Irish real estate teams which cover all aspects of the typical commercial property life cycle. Their main focus is on advising institutional investors acquiring or disposing of prime real estate investment assets, real estate finance providers on cross border portfolio financings and major corporate occupiers (and retailers) on their UK wide real estate portfolios.

  • Advising Gravis Capital Partners on the refinancing of Agrivert’s AD business.
  • Advising MeyGen on its 398 MW tidal project in the Pentland Firth.
  • Advising Low Carbon on the development and refinancing of 200 MW of ground mounted solar projects.
  • Advising Minesto on its 10 MW tidal project at Holyhead Deep.
  • Advising the sellers of the AUB UK Student Accommodation Fund on the Scottish aspects of the sale of the fund to the Unite UK Student Accommodation Fund (USAF).
  • Advising RBS and HSBC on the Scottish aspects of the financing of a major student accommodation portfolio.
  • Advising the Horserace Betting Levy Board on the financing of capital projects at various racecourses around the UK.
