Hannah advises across a range of commercial sectors, with a particular emphasis on financial services. She works with her colleagues to help clients arrive at the right solution to their issue, minimising impact and maximising success. Hannah is supported by our extensive dispute resolution practice with a proven track record in the highest-profile cases and cross-border, multi-sector expertise.

Hannah has High Court and Court of Appeal experience, including in obtaining urgent injunctive relief to protect the client’s commercial interests. She also has mediation experience.

Hannah has in-house commercial experience from a secondment at The Royal Bank of Scotland plc.

Experience
  • Acting for Financial Services Compensation Scheme Limited (FSCS) on its PPI recoveries project, pursuing recoveries from lenders pursuant to s.140 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (“CCA”) following the Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Plevin v Paragon Personal Finance Ltd 2014 UKSC 61.
  • Pursuing a claim regarding the over-valuation of a portfolio of 91 bank branches and ancillary offices which stood as security for a £125 million loan advanced by a major UK bank for an intended securitisation. 
  • Acting for FSCS as a representative creditor in the recent High Court and Court of Appeal cases relating to the MF Global UK Company Voluntary Arrangement. 
  • Acting for the National Crime Agency in defence of a £250 million compensation claim, being the first major section 283 POCA claim to be brought before the Courts.
  • Advising on a substantial portfolio of professional negligence claims against commercial surveyors for a leading UK bank
