Ian Carnochan Partner

Ian is a partner in the firm's tax team, specialising in corporate tax.

Ian advises on all areas of corporate, real estate and commercial tax, including:

• mergers and acquisitions
• corporate reconstructions
• financing arrangements
• investment structures and funds
• property development and investment
• VAT, stamp duty and SDLT.

This includes advice to corporate, private and institutional clients on a wide range of UK and international transactions.

Ian is a member of the Law Society's Corporation Tax Sub Committee and Stamp Taxes Working Group. He is also a member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group.

• Advising institutions, management and investee companies on private equity transactions.
• Tax structuring advice in relation to debt and equity investments, including in renewables projects.
• Advising on property development and acquisition transactions, as well as on the disposal of agricultural estates and property portfolios.
• Tax advice to lenders and borrowers on all types of financing transactions, including debt restructurings.
• Advising on investments, including on fund mergers and on the establishment of authorised contractual schemes.
