Nicola is an associate in the firm's dispute resolution team and specialises in transport, transport technology and intelligent mobility. 

Her experience includes:

  • advising transport clients in relation to contractual, regulatory and safety issues
  • advising clients from various sectors on commercial and contractual issues arising out of the supply of goods and services, and
  • advising on brand protection and enforcement IP rights including trade marks, passing off and domain name and company name disputes.

Nicola has experience in-house with Direct Rail Services where she was sole legal counsel providing commercial and transactional advice to the business.

She co-authored the RAC Foundation Report 'A Highways Accident Investigation Branch - What Lessons can we learned from the Rail Industry and the Cullen Inquiry?'. Subsequent to this report, the RAC Foundation received funding from the Department for Transport to run a pilot on highways accident data analysis. 

  • Advising a Passenger Operator in relation to contractual issues arising out of a multi-modal agreement.
  • Advising clients in relation to historic asbestos risk and strategic safety and environmental considerations. 
  • Part of the team advising Transport for Wales and Welsh Ministers on the vertically-integrated £5 billion franchise of the Wales and Border Rail Services and South Wales metro.
  • Advising an entrepreneurial client in relation to a commercial agency claim.
  • Advising in relation to a High Court breach of contract claim with regulatory and insurance issues.
  • Advising Virgin, Starbucks and Victoria's Secret in relation to brand protection and clearance of new brands.
