Overview

Tim is a partner in the corporate finance team.  He has over ten years of experience across the full range of corporate transactional and advisory work, with particular expertise in:

  • domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions; 
  • joint ventures and consortia arrangements;
  • public takeovers and other significant transactions involving listed companies (both Main Market and AIM);
  • restructurings and reorganisations; and
  • corporate governance matters (for both private and publicly listed companies).  

Tim advises clients across a broad range of sectors and has a particular focus on infrastructure transactions, where he has acted on a number of high-profile UK and international deals. 

Tim has also previously undertaken secondments to Hong Kong and the investment banking division of a major global investment bank. 

Experience

Advising the consortium of infrastructure investors who acquired London City Airport from Global Infrastructure Partners and Highstar Capital.

Advising a multinational IT company on the sale of its controlling stake in an Indian publicly-listed IT services provider to private equity funds for approximately US$825 million.

Advising one of the largest single-professional pension funds in Canada on various transactions, including its acquisition of: (i) stakes in Brussels and Copenhagen airports in return for the sale of its interest in Sydney airport and a balancing cash payment of approximately AUS$780 million; and (ii) an additional 50% stake in Bristol airport, resulting in it becoming the sole owner of the airport.

Advising a multinational oil and gas company on its C$2.3 billion cross-border acquisition of an international E&P company.

Advising a multinational insurance company on its £5.6 billion public takeover of another FTSE 100 insurance company.

Advising a global insurance and reinsurance company on its £2.8 billion public takeover of a FTSE 250 company.

Advising FB Investors on its partial offer for Sutton Harbor Holdings plc.

Advising Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc on its acquisition of Chartwell Healthcare Limited.  

Advising a global energy and commodities trading company on various complex transactions.

Advising an ad hoc committee of first lien lenders on a £930 million restructuring involving a debt for equity swap.
