Overview

If you’re interested in learning about life at a leading law firm or you would like to gain transferable skills valuable to all employers, an apprenticeship could be just what you are looking for. We are passionate about diversity and developing new talent, which is why we recruit our people from the widest possible pool of candidates.

What does an apprenticeship involve?

Involving through-the-job and class room learning, apprenticeships give first-hand insight into life at Burges Salmon and open doors to various legal roles including qualification as a solicitor. Learn more, about a legal apprenticeship.

How many apprenticeships do you offer?

Four legal apprentices joined us in September 2018 and we will be looking for a similar number to join us in September 2019.

How long is the programme?

The programme will last for two years.

What does the programme involve?

The programme involves completing a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship with additional study to give you a Level 4 qualification (equivalent to the first year of university). Obtaining this Level 4 qualification means that you will be able to complete the Level 7 Solicitor apprenticeship in a reduced period of time (five years, instead of six). We will support those who have the inclination and ability to complete the Level 7 qualification.

Where will you be based?

All the positions will be based at One Glass Wharf, our Bristol HQ. Located in the heart of the Temple Quay area, we sit in the legal and business hub of the city only five minutes' walk from Temple Meads station.

Why us?

Burges Salmon is a great place to work on both a professional and personal level.

Our lawyers are motivated and passionate about the work that they do, producing a first class service for clients such as John Lewis Partnership, The Discovery Channel, The Premier League and The Crown Estate. The fact that we are all based at our Bristol HQ means that we work very well as a team and are able to deliver excellent results for our clients.

But it's not all work here.

We have an active social life and there are plenty of opportunities to participate in corporate responsibility activities as well as sports and social events. To find out more about what it's like to work here, please see our working at Burges Salmon page.
