Due to a significant uptick in work and client instructions, Burges Salmon are recruiting a qualified Trade Mark Attorney to support their leading Intellectual Property (IP) practice on a temporary basis.

The Opportunity

This opportunity is available on a full or part-time basis in our Bristol office, or remotely. We are open to discussing providing flexible working patterns for the right person.

In role, you will provide our national and international clients with well-informed, strategic and pragmatic advice. This demanding but exciting role involves working with our close-knit team of contentious and non-contentious IP lawyers and being responsible for advising our client roster of global brands on all aspects of trade mark clearance, protection, enforcement, and strategy.

Other regular responsibilities and duties may include:

  • Working with our Trade Mark Attorneys to manage all global trade mark filings and contentious proceedings.
  • Devising and advising on worldwide TM filing strategies; liaising with local counsel worldwide.
  • Clearance advice.
  • Advising on office actions and how to deal with them, and responding to the EUIPO.
  • Advising on and dealing with oppositions and other contentious proceedings at the EUIPO.

Requirements

  • You must be a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.
  • You should be able to work well as part of a team, with good client care skills.
  • You should be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding.
  • If working remotely, you should be comfortable working independently, with remote supervision as needed.
