Young Bristol [Video]

A team of volunteers from Burges Salmon spent a week with leading youth charity, Young Bristol, to transform its outdoor activity centre.

24 November 2016

I sat down with Lee Williams, Chief Executive of Young Bristol a few months ago – I'm one of the charity's trustees – and we discussed how we could work together for our major corporate responsibility project this year. The upshot was the project and the transformation of Young Bristol's outdoor activity centre that you can see in the video below

Young Bristol is a leading youth charity working in some of the most deprived areas of Bristol and the outdoor activity centre provides a space where young people come to build their confidence, learn how to work in a team as well as developing a whole host of other soft skills. The site is not just for young people, and if you are looking for a different venue for an event, Young Bristol can arrange all sorts of team building sessions as well as the usual birthday parties and hen and stag dos!

One hundred and twenty two of our people were involved in the redevelopment in total and another group will soon be working on how to maximise use of the transformed site – so it is a project that has touched on the lives of many of the Burges Salmon people.

We hope it's something that touches you too. Please feel free to share it and/or get in touch with me as to how you set up such a large project for your people.

Onwards and upwards for next year's challenge!
