City Leap is a series of energy and infrastructure investment opportunities that the council is seeking local, national and international partnerships to achieve, and represents a huge step towards the ambition to make Bristol a carbon neutral city by 2050.

Bristol City Council has delivered a wide programme of energy efficiency and investment initiatives since 2005, investing tens of millions of pounds in renewable energy generation, low-carbon technologies and energy efficiency as well as meeting its own 2020 corporate carbon reduction target three years early.

The council is now moving forwards with innovative pilot schemes that will help build the city’s future smart energy system and Burges Salmon has been appointed to provide the necessary legal support and advice. The cross-firm Burges Salmon team, led by Corporate partner Camilla Usher-Clark, includes Projects partners Nick Churchward and John Houlden, and Corporate senior associate Gregory Nash.
