Burges Salmon has been appointed to the Costain Group PLC legal panel, for three years from 2015 to 2017, to provide legal advice across its business including in relation to Construction and Engineering, Insurance, Real Estate, Corporate, IP/IT/Data Protection and Employment.

Costain is one of the UK’s leading engineering solutions providers and is involved in many important transportation, energy and water projects across the UK.

The appointment to the panel, alongside Clyde & Co and Pinsent Masons, is recognition of the strategic fit both companies share as a result of their focus and expertise in the UK infrastructure and natural resources markets.

Paul Starkey, Head of Legal at Costain, said that the panel is “…a very important part of Costain’s professional network and significant energies have gone into maximising its value for all parties over the past seven years. I am confident that the new panel will build on these successes.”

Client partner from Burges Salmon Will Gard said: “Costain’s chosen sectors are closely aligned with those in which we operate, which was a key factor in our selection. We are delighted with the appointment, which significantly enhances our Infrastructure and Projects sector profile, and we very much look forward to working with the Costain team, and building what we hope will become a long-standing client relationship.”
