Burges Salmon is pleased to announce that it is one of the lead sponsors for the forthcoming London & Bristol Shaun the Sheep public arts trails; Shaun in the City.

In 2015, Aardman Animations internationally acclaimed character Shaun the Sheep will appear in two arts trails in Bristol and London, to raise money for children in hospitals across the UK, including Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Shaun in the City will feature 120 giant Shaun the Sheep sculptures designed and decorated by high profile artists, designers, celebrities and local talent, herded on the streets of London and Bristol in a ‘trail of two cities’. The line-up of prestigious artists and celebrities will be revealed as the campaign unfolds.

The trail in London will see sixty 5ft high sculptures springing up in key, central locations around the capital including the City of London, Westminster, Southbank and iconic tourist destinations. The Bristol trail will also feature sixty 5ft high sculptures springing up in key, central locations and iconic tourist destinations around the city.

The sculptures will be displayed in Bristol during July and August 2015, following the launch of the London Shaun in the City trail in March 2015. The eight week trail will coincide with the Chinese Year of the Sheep and following the release of the first Shaun the Sheep Movie.

The charity initiative from the team that created the award-winning Gromit Unleashed public art trail in 2013, that raised £2.3m and of which Burges Salmon was also a sponsor, expects to see visitors from across the globe flocking to the spectacles.

Nicola Masters, director at Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved with the world’s first Shaun in the City Trail, staged in the heart of the capital and designed to draw international attention and visitors from across the globe, whilst raising vital funds to support children in hospitals. Furthermore, following the success of Gromit Unleashed, we can’t wait to bring Shaun in the City to Bristol where there is so much love and support for Shaun the Sheep and the Grand Appeal.'

Following both trails, in autumn 2015, the flocks will be on display in two exhibitions; ‘The Great Sheep Round Up’ in Bristol and London, before the VIP auction in London to raise money for sick children in hospitals across the UK.
