Burges Salmon’s Private Wealth team has been shortlisted in two categories at the forthcoming STEP Private Client Awards.

The team is a finalist for ‘Private Client Legal Team of the Year (large firm)’ and associate Ronnie Myers has been shortlisted for ‘Young Practitioner of the Year’.

The STEP Awards are recognised as the most prestigious in the private wealth sector and, consequently, generate a substantial number of entries. The judges have confirmed an increase in submissions of nearly 25% this year, with only five finalists per category.

Private Wealth Partner and Head of Department, John Barnett, says: “Having won the category on the previous two occasions we entered in 2015/16 and 2017/18, it would be outstanding for us to win a third time. However, due to the number of entries, being shortlisted is a great achievement for the reputation of the team and the firm.

We are particularly pleased for Ronnie to be recognised at this national level. Ronnie is already undertaking the workload of someone more qualified and is always willing to go beyond what is required. He is quick to get to the heart of what a client wants and uses his ordered and methodical style to explain complex legal matters to clients in a way they find easy to follow. Clients always appreciate Ronnie’s prompt attention and tailored advice.”

The awards ceremony will be held on 25 September at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London Hotel.
