Claire MacLean Partner

Claire is a Partner in the firm’s real estate team. She has over 17 years’ experience in Scottish real estate and joined the firm when the Edinburgh Office was established in 2019.
 
Claire specialises in renewable energy projects and acts for developer, investor and funder clients across multiple technologies including onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery and pumped storage hydro. She works closely with the firm’s wider energy team on some of the biggest and most innovative renewable energy projects in Scotland.
 
Claire also acts for investors, developers, private companies, occupiers and funders in the built environment sector and often combines her knowledge of renewables to help our clients adapt to net zero and ESG targets.

• Advising on the Scottish aspects of a sale and leaseback of the Holiday Inn Express Atlas Portfolio of 43 hotels.
• Advising on the real estate aspects of the corporate sale of a portfolio of five star hotels. Leading on property due diligence, property aspects of the share purchase agreement and liaising with foreign lawyers.
• Investment purchases and sales throughout Scotland.
• Asset management of high profile multi-let Edinburgh office block, to include the negotiation of leases and other ancillary leasehold documents.
• Advising on the purchase of two high profile student accommodation development sites in Scotland.
