Clare trained at Burges Salmon and qualified into the Construction and Engineering team in September 2023. She advises an array of clients within the built environment, renewables and energy and utilities sectors in respect of large construction and engineering projects.

She has experience in FIDIC, NEC, JCT and bespoke form contracts and other ancillary legal documents and advises on their negotiation and amendment. She also provides troubleshooting advice to assist in dispute avoidance on construction and engineering projects.

Clare’s clients include public and private stakeholders.

Experience

  • Major national developer: Advising on and closing a series of joint appointments and drafting collateral warranties in respect of a development to the north west of Cardiff.
  • Offshore windfarm developer: conducting due diligence for a large joint venture company on various FIDIC-based and bespoke form contracts in relation to the sale of an offshore wind farm.
  • National Utility Company: providing advice on managing issues with a contractor, including reviewing the compensation event regime under an amended NEC3 form of contract and preparing for adjudication proceedings.
  • Private developer: Drafting terms for an engineering, procurement and construction agreement for a battery storage project.
