Joanna Monaghan Director

Joanna is a director in the firm’s corporate finance team, based in the Edinburgh office. She has a broad experience of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and corporate restructuring, and works with clients across a range of sectors including financial services, food and drink, sport and renewable energy.

As well as transactional work, Joanna provides advice and support to clients on various corporate and commercial matters including corporate governance, company law and company secretarial matters, and produces, and advises on, a range of commercial contracts for clients.

• Acted for Nucleus Financial plc on its takeover by pensions and investment firm James Hay.
• Acted for Embark Group, a fast growing investment and retirement platform business, on its takeover by Lloyds Banking Group.
• Acted for global insurance company MAPFRE Asistencia on AllClear Travel Insurance's acquisition of MAPFRE's subsidiary, InsureandGo.
• Acted for William Grant & Sons on its acquisition of Drambuie Limited and on various investments.
• Acted for Inverleith on its investments in premium online butcher Farmison Holdings and outdoor clothing brand Montane.
• Acted for the shareholders of FlightScope on the sale of the company to IMG Arena, a company in the Endeavor Group.
• Acted for Ocean Winds (offshore wind joint venture formed between EDPR and Engie) on a partnership with Ignitis Group to develop wind projects in the Lithuanian Baltic Sea, together with the acquisition by Ignitis of a 5% shareholding in Ocean Wind's development project company for the Moray West wind farm.
• Acted for the majority shareholders of the UK's largest integrated forestry business, BSW Timber, on the sale of the company to Endless LLP.
• Acted for Eider Investors on its investment into a vertical farming business
