Overview

Peter is the firm's managing partner.

Peter joined Burges Salmon in 2001 as a partner and has been the firm's managing partner since 2010.

As managing partner, Peter has executive responsibility for the leadership of the firm working closely with the firm's senior partner, Chris Seaton.

Peter is a member of the firm's partnership committee, which is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm, and chairs various committees responsible for the delivery of the firm's strategy and day-to-day operations. He is also the firm's compliance officer for legal practice.

Peter's background is in disputes and he continues to be a partner in the firm's dispute resolution department. He is a solicitor advocate, specialising in commercial disputes and professional negligence.

For many years he has been recognised as a leading practitioner in both Chambers UK and Legal 500.

Experience

Peter's experience spans a wide range of disputes and dispute resolution processes including litigation, arbitration, mediation and expert determination.

As a practitioner he worked for substantial public and private companies, financial institutions and public sector bodies.

In the field of professional negligence, he mainly acted for claimants.
