Sarah leads Burges Salmon’s cross-departmental fintech practice and is a director in the firm's Technology and Communications team.

She has been involved in advising on evolving technologies for over 15 years, including work on:

  • high profile transformational project procurements
  • platform agreements
  • structuring business models for commercialising new technologies 
  • advising on commercial delivery and providing practical risk analysis and guidance, most recently in the realms of smart technologies, data privacy and cloud.

Much of Sarah's work is international in nature and she specialises in multi-party, multi-jurisdiction licensing and implementing solutions.

Experience
  • Advising the Faster Payments Scheme in setting up the Mule Insights Tactical Solution (MITS), an AI enabled platform for participating financial institutions to trace fraud through the Faster Payment System using data analytics and artificial intelligence software.
  • Advising Vodafone Global Enterprise on the implementation of managed mobile services to Unilever and its affiliates across 64 jurisdictions.
  • Advising the Faster Payments Scheme on the technology law aspects of its competition for the procurement of the UK's 24/7 near real-time payment service.
  • Working with Vodafone Global Enterprise to draft and negotiate various agreements to deliver smart, machine to machine (M2M) technologies, particularly in the insurance and automotive sectors.
  • Advising Vodafone Global Enterprise on drafting various agreements from the point of view of both supply chain and sell-side, including fixed line, MVNOs, network service agreements and other mobile service agreements. 
  • Working with DXC Technology to draft and advise on various cloud computing agreements in the financial and insurance sectors, including outsourced cloud data storage, database and security services.
  • Advising Kalido Limited on the negotiation of various agreements for the exploitation of its data warehousing software worldwide, including licence agreements, reseller arrangements and systems integration.
