Alex qualified into the Pensions team in September 2020. He studied History at UCL and the University of Texas, and the GDL and LPC MSc at the University of Law.

Alex advises pension scheme trustees and companies on a broad range of pensions legal issues. His experience includes:

  • advising on the day-to-day running of pension schemes, including scheme governance, member queries and scheme documentation;
  • projects such as GMP equalisation, closures, buy-outs and winding up; and
  • technical aspects of pensions law including GMPs in particular.

He also has a keen interest in legal technology and automated legal services, and has been interviewed on this and featured by publications such as the Artificial Lawyer.

Alex is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers and the Junior Lawyers Division.

  • Advising the trustees of the Silentnight Pension Scheme on market leading Pensions Regulator proceedings.
  • Advising trustees and employers in relation to scheme liability management, including specific projects such as closures to accrual, buy-out / winding up and investigations prior to litigation.
  • Drafting and interpreting scheme documentation.
  • Advising trustees on a range of pension matters such as member benefit queries, member complaints and GMP equalisation.
