Elizabeth is an associate in the Construction and Engineering team in our Edinburgh office. She specialises in non-contentious construction work and has worked on a number of diverse transactions including private sector real estate and energy and infrastructure developments.
She uses her knowledge and experience to provide clients with advice on the construction aspects of large and complex, multi-party transactions, ensuring that the best possible result is achieved.
Elizabeth has experience assisting a range of our clients, including developers, lenders, contractors and consultants and regularly advises them with the negotiation of construction contracts including standard form JCT/SBCC, FIDIC and NEC building contracts. As a result, she has developed a sound understanding of the construction industry.
Experience
- Burges Salmon LLP: Assisting in the negotiation and ingathering of a suite of construction documents for works at the firm’s Edinburgh office.
- St Andrews Brewers Limited: Reviewing and advising on a JCT building contract relating to a new distillery and visitor centre.
- High Street Retailer: Reporting on and negotiating appointments and associated collateral warranties as well as advising on construction aspects of leases of commercial sites across the UK.
- Leading Contractor: Reviewing and reporting on standard form NEC building contracts in relation to a share purchase agreement.
- National Transport Developer: Preparing due diligence reports for a number of developments across the UK.
