Genevieve is an associate in the firm’s Construction and Engineering team. She advises public and private sector bodies in the transport, energy, and utilities sectors, and has experience of major regulated procurements.
She has worked as part of the in-house legal teams for three major infrastructure projects. During these client secondments, she worked as part of the core delivery teams to negotiate and deliver high-value contracts and contracts of key strategic importance, as well as providing troubleshooting advice.
Genevieve has expertise in standard form construction and engineering suites (including NEC and FIDIC) and in bespoke contracts and ancillary legal documents.
As the 2024-2025 Vice Chair of the Forum for Tomorrow Western branch (part of Forum for the Built Environment), she has worked with the committee to organise networking opportunities for construction, infrastructure and property professionals. Genevieve regularly attends FFT and FBE events.
Experience
- Developers of new nuclear power plants: Advised the clients across various programmes, including procurement of civils works, equipment, and site operations services.
- Developer of a major transport infrastructure project: Advised the client on main works civils contracts, and third-party agreements including interfaces with utilities and public sector bodies.
- Utility company: Upgraded the client’s NEC suite for capital works projects.
- Central government department: Advised the client with respect to procurement of a multi-million pound facilities management contract.
- Transport for Wales: Provided troubleshooting advice regarding interpretation of, and change management in relation to, construction documentation.
- UK Atomic Energy Authority: Advised on construction elements of its fusion energy portfolio.
