Joanna is a director in the firm’s corporate finance team, based in the Edinburgh office. She has a broad experience of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and corporate restructuring, and works with clients across a range of sectors including renewable energy, food and drink and financial services.

As well as transactional work, Joanna provides advice and support to clients on various corporate and commercial matters including corporate governance, company law and company secretarial matters, and produces, and advises on, a range of commercial contracts for clients. Joanna has undertaken secondments to a Norwegian renewable energy company and a large clearing bank.

  • Acted for a Scotch whisky distiller on a variety of transactions including the acquisition of an iconic brand of liqueur.
  • Acted for an investor in consumer brand businesses on its partial acquisition and investment in a family-run chocolate business.
  • Acting for a manufacturer of gluten free products on its £21 million acquisition of two manufacturers of baked goods.
  • Acted for a market leading breeder of poultry on an acquisition, as well as various corporate restructuring, corporate secretarial and contractual matters.
  • Acting for a UK based renewable energy company in the sale of a wind farm.
  • Acted for a network of renewable energy innovators in connection with various acquisitions, including Green Hedge and Bishopthorpe Wind Farm.
  • Acting for a hydropower company on various corporate transactions.
  • Acted for an award winning online wrap platform on its AIM IPO.
  • Working with a golfing governing body on a variety of corporate structure and corporate governance matters, as well as a merger.
