Joanne is an experienced licensing, regulatory and environmental lawyer and is the head of the Licensing practice.

Specialising in both contentious and non-contentious advice, she advises on licensing, gambling and gaming issues across a number of sectors. She also has considerable wider regulatory and environmental experience having advised extensively on risk, liabilities and regulation, real estate and corporate transactions, general compliance and regulatory actions.

Joanne is ranked in Legal 500 2025 as a Leading Associate and in Chambers 2025 for Licensing (UK Wide).

  • Various clients: Advising on applications, reviews, hearings, general compliance and contractual arrangements under a variety of licensing regimes (including the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005).
