Laura is an associate that specialises primarily in construction and engineering dispute resolution.

She undertakes all types of dispute resolution work for a range of public and private sector clients including employers, main contractors and subcontractors in the health, education, leisure, energy and housing sectors.

Laura’s experience includes acting for clients in formal dispute resolution proceedings including adjudication, mediation, and litigation. Laura also regularly advises clients on matters in dispute and where possible assists them to reach a negotiated position without the need to refer the matter to formal dispute resolution.

She also has experience and assists with advising on and negotiating non-contentious construction matters.

Laura is a member of the Technology and Construction Solicitors’ Association (TeCSA) and is part of the FFT Western committee.

  • Assisting a local authority in successfully responding to a dispute referred to adjudication by a contractor who alleged entitlement to a series of compensations event pursuant to the contract.
  • Advising a contractor concerning the enforcement of an adjudicator's Decision. The Responding Party had failed to pay amount set out in the Decision. Advised the Referring Party through the enforcement of the Decision in the Technology and Construction Court. Costs were awarded in full to the Referring Party.
  • Advising an NHS trust in connection with a multi-million pound claim arising out of non-compliant fire compartmentation installed at a PFI hospital.
  • Advising a social housing provider in respect of the replacement of the combustible aluminum cladding installed on a residential tower block and the rectification of additional defects in the design and construction that were discovered during the remedial process.
