Overview

Neil is a senior associate in the firm's corporate team with core expertise in commercial. Neil has specialist and sector expertise in food and drink, retail, hotels, leisure, tourism and sport.

Neil’s work focuses on transactional intellectual property and commercial contracts. He regularly advises businesses on a cross section of operational matters, including:

  • manufacturing and distribution arrangements
  • terms and conditions (including consumer facing terms)
  • services agreements
  • licensing arrangements, and
  • marketing contracts and sponsorship arrangements.
Experience
  • Advising Yeo Valley on various contractual arrangements, including on its partnership and intellectual property licensing arrangements with Arla Foods in relation to its liquid milk, butter and cheese business.
  • Advising for BEIS on the commercial and contract aspects of a project to establish the UK’s largest innovation body with a £6 billion budget, United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI), which launched on 1 April 2018.
  • Advising John Lewis Partnership and Waitrose on a range of commercial contracts including business-as-usual agreements, sponsorship agreements and influencer agreements.
  • Advising a motor racing series rights holder on its sponsorship arrangements with a luxury automotive brand.
  • Advising a major private healthcare provider on the compliance of its marketing and promotional materials with the CAP Code and consumer protection legislation.
