Overview

Sarah is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Real Estate Disputes team. She advises clients on a wide range of contentious real estate issues and has considerable experience dealing with both commercial and complex residential property disputes including commercial and residential service charge disputes, multi occupancy site clearances, commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes and contentious leasehold enfranchisement.

Sarah is a member of the Property Litigation Association and Women in Property.

 

Experience
  • Advising a developer on a rights to light dispute raised by the owner of a neighbouring property which had the potential to prevent the development.
  • Acting for a residential developer in obtaining an interim injunction to stop a neighbour from preventing the developer from completing its development of open market and affordable housing.
  • Acting for a national leisure club operator who had terminated leases and licences by physically re-taking possession. Advising on the legality of the position and assisting the client in recovering substantial rent arrears from the former tenant/licensee who subsequently went into administration.
  • Advising a commercial landowner to determine the legal status of undocumented occupiers in buildings on its land and how to remove them in order to redevelop the site.
  • Acting for a care home provider to obtain a deed of variation to the long leases due to irregularities in the calculations of service charge across all the long leases. Providing advice on the statutory mechanism to vary the leases.
  • Advising a high net worth individual freehold owner of a London hotel whether a deed of variation to allow sub-letting of adjacent mews houses resulted in the leaseholder acquiring the right to enfranchise.
  • Acting for high net worth individuals with mixed property portfolios in enfranchisement claims and the advising on disposal and transfer of mixed property portfolios.
