In this most recent AIM collaboration, Burges Salmon’s Corporate practice advised WH Ireland in its capacity as nominated adviser and broker to Northcoders Group plc, an independent provider of training programmes for software coding, on its flotation and placing.

Headquartered in Manchester, Northcoders offers a range of training and software development solutions to individual and corporate customers, including 'bootcamp' and bespoke training courses, government-funded apprenticeships and software development solutions.

The fundraising will drive Northcoders’ ambitious growth strategy, enabling the company to expand geographically with a new hub in Birmingham and the opening of two further regional hubs in 2022.

The Burges Salmon team advising on the transaction was led by corporate finance partner Dominic Davis with support from associate Guy Francis.

Mike Coe, Director at WH Ireland, says: “I am very grateful to Dom and Guy and the Burges Salmon team who provided an excellent service and gave timely and considered advice to WH Ireland throughout while also liaising effectively with the company’s lawyers and helping to ensure an efficient and smooth process.”

Dominic adds: “It’s been a real pleasure to support Mike and WH Ireland once again, this time on Northcoders’ float on AIM, which is set to facilitate the next step of the company’s exciting journey in meeting the ever-increasing demand for digital training.”

The AIM float of Northcoders is the latest in an extensive roster of technology-focused transactions on which Burges Salmon’s Corporate team has advised in the last 18 months.
