The two new appointments, effective from 1 May 2018, will take Burges Salmon to a total of 88 partners and reflect the firm’s work in areas where its knowledge, experience and skills deliver highly effective solutions to its clients’ complex needs.

Ian Carnochan will become a partner in the firm’s Tax team. Ian joined Burges Salmon in 2012 and specialises in corporate tax, advising on all areas of corporate, real estate and commercial tax. This includes advice to corporate, private and institutional clients on a wide range of UK and international transactions.

Richard Adams will become a partner in Burges Salmon’s Construction and Engineering team. Having worked in the construction industry prior to joining Burges Salmon in 2006, Richard qualified into the firm’s Construction & Engineering team in 2011. He advises a wide range of clients on contentious and non-contentious matters and has particular expertise in the energy, utilities and transport infrastructure sectors.

Burges Salmon’s Senior Partner, Chris Seaton, says: “Both corporate tax and construction and engineering are key areas for our business, where our teams advise clients on a wide range of complex and interesting matters. I am therefore delighted to announce these senior appointments and welcome all three to the partnership.”
