With some sadness, we are coming to the end of another successful Burges Salmon Charity of the Year.

It has been great working together with Julian House and getting to know more about the excellent work that they do to address the symptoms of homelessness and the underlying reasons why men and women are forced onto the streets.

We are looking back on so many fantastic activities that have taken place this year to raise money and profile for Julian House – the Courtesy Bike launch, Dragon Boat race, Village Fete, Image of the Year Competition, I'm a Partner Get Me Out of Here, amongst others. But, a real highlight for everyone was our recent flagship event Strictly Legal that saw our office atrium turned into a ballroom for one night only.

What a great way to end the year and bring so many of us together to raise over £40k in one evening for Julian House!

It was a real pleasure to see everyone right across the firm coming together again to support the event. There are far too many people for me to thank personally now – as Alexis Woodward from Julian House says: “Congratulations on organising such a mind-blowing event. I have seen some fantastic events staged by companies, but it’s safe to say you blew it out the water last night! The time the dancers took in practicing to perform at such a high standard, the decorations on the night, the hair/make up, judging, auction and raffle…the whole evening was brilliant fun. I’ve never been to an event so well supported across the whole company, it really was truly amazing.

“On behalf of Julian House thank you all so much for all the time, effort and energy you put into last night.”

I couldn’t have put it better myself!

The video below captures a snapshot of what an amazing event our Strictly Legal was. We hope you like it and will join me in congratulating all the dancers, and thanking everyone who has continued to support this special event including our amazing dance teacher Michele Webber at the Dance Factory who again proved she can inspire and turn anyone into a dancer, the fantastic team at Tomlinsons for providing the hairdressing, Paul Bantin at Apple Jack Creative Services who worked his magic with sound and lights again and our auctioneer extraordinaire, Toby Pinn of Clevedon Salerooms, who was able to extract money and laughs in equal measure!
