Overview

Jamie is an experienced employment and business immigration lawyer, advising national and international businesses and senior executives on all aspects of employment law and business and immigration issues.

With a wide range of experience across the spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment law, Jamie holds significant experience dealing with:

  • high profile and sensitive employment disputes and claims
  • executive appointments and exit
  • business change, including restructures, reorganisations and outsourcing
  • partnership disputes
  • strategic immigration advice and employment of overseas nationals.

As a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and Immigration Practitioners Association, Jamie regularly delivers training programmes to HR and legal teams across the country. Jamie is also Head of Community Engagement and leads on a number of Burges Salmon's community initiatives. 

Experience
  • Advising a multinational bank on the full range of employment law issues, including large scale business restructures, outsourcing arrangements and the HR aspects of joint venture plans.  
  • Successfully defending a FTSE 100 company in sensitive employment tribunal proceedings and providing day to day advice on the full range of employment law issues.
  • Advising a global manufacturing business on the full range of employment advice, including day-to-day advice, advising on business restructures and outsourcing arrangements and managing employment tribunal claims.
  • Advising a high profile brand on the appointment and managing the exit of its directors and senior employees.
  • Successfully defending a high profile and sensitive employment tribunal claim that was brought against a business owner.
