Burges Salmon has been named as a finalist in three categories at the STEP Private Client Awards 2022/23: ‘Employer of the Year’, ‘International Legal Team of the Year (large firm)’ and ‘Private Client Legal Team of the Year (large firm)’.
An international association for practitioners specialising in family inheritance and succession planning, STEP has 20,000 members from a range of professions. Its annual awards, now in its 17th year, celebrate excellence among private client lawyers, accountants and other specialists across the world and are widely recognised as the most prestigious awards in the industry.
The shortlisting builds on the Burges Salmon Private Wealth Team’s previous success of winning Private Client Legal Team of the Year at the STEP Private Client Awards in 2021, and having been shortlisted in this category the last six times the team has entered the Private Client Legal Team of the Year awards – winning it four times to date. In 2022 the team was also named as a finalist for the 2022 eprivateclient Excellence Awards and shortlisted in three categories at Chambers High Net Worth Awards 2022.
The team’s first nomination for International Team of the Year recognises its work on complex and multi-jurisdictional succession planning and trust restructuring, collaborating with independent overseas law firms. The firm’s independence is an essential part of our client offering and means we are flexible to work alongside overseas firms best suited to our clients’ needs and budget.
In line with STEP’s core focus on promoting high standards and continuing professional development, Burges Salmon has been nominated for a new category this year at the Private Client Awards, for Employer of the Year. This shortlisting is a result of the firm’s commitment to wellbeing, learning and development, equality, diversity and inclusion, and support from the top of the organisation.
Beatrice Puoti, head of Burges Salmon's Private Wealth team, says: “As a team, and as individuals, we are constantly striving to provide the best service for our clients and we are pleased to have that commitment acknowledged. We look forward to building on the strength and breadth of the team moving forward.
“We all know that to receive a STEP Award is the hallmark of quality within the private wealth sector, and these shortlistings are testament to the commitment and resilience that our team has demonstrated over the past year. I am really proud of our entire team, who deserve this award for their relentless focus on our clients and for continuing to provide them with the excellent level of service for which Burges Salmon is known.”
Robert Halton, Chief People Officer at Burges Salmon, adds: “We are pleased to have been recognised by the STEP Private Client Awards for our work as a leading employer within the sector. This recognition sits alongside our status as a STEP Platinum Employer and holder of the Investors in People Platinum award, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to providing the best proposition for our people and our clients.”
