Overview

Amy joined Burges Salmon's pensions team in September 2014, following qualifying and training as a solicitor with the firm. 

Amy advises on a full range of pension issues for a number of different trustee clients, including detailed advice on member queries and trustee duties. She has also drafted a wide range of scheme documents and communications.

Amy is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers. Amy is also co-chair of BEnabled, Burges Salmon’s employee-led disability forum.

Experience
  • Drafting pension scheme deeds and documentation, including updating and consolidating rules.
  • Advising on a bulk transfers into master trusts, for both DC and DB arrangements.
  • Advising on the closure of the schemes to future accrual.
  • Providing day to day support to a number of trustee and employer clients on a full range of pensions issues. Issues include member communications, equalisation, GMP reconciliation, rule amendments, apportionment arrangements and cessation events and the exercise of trustee and employer discretions.
