Overview

Liz specialises in development, in particular infrastructure and energy and major redevelopment projects.

Her practice areas include advising on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs), planning obligations and infrastructure agreements, planning appeals and judicial review, including appearing as a planning inquiry advocate. She also regularly advises on Environmental Impact, Habitats and Appropriate Assessment and compulsory purchase.

Liz is a member of the RTPI and the Law Society's Planning Panel.

She is also on the steering group of Entrepreneurial Women in Renewable Energy.

Experience
  • Leading on the consenting of the Triton Knoll Electrical System works, the longest linear NSIP to date.
  • Advising on a wide range of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in both England and Wales including onshore and offshore wind, biomass, hazardous waste and rail.
  • Advising on a major mixed use development of over 3,000 homes and related infrastructure.
  • Advising an onshore wind developer in relation to the Electricity Act conjoined mid-Wales Public Inquiry.
  • Advising on agricultural developments, including energy schemes and polytunnels.
  • Advising on the promotion and securing of community benefit, including appropriate structures and mechanisms for delivery.
