It is no longer a feasible option to adopt a purely reactive approach to fraud. The latest Office for National Statistics figures for the 12 months ending March 2021 compared to the 12 months ending March 2020, show incidents of fraud growing by 26 per cent.

Given its role in society, it is crucially important that the pensions sector is properly protected to mitigate the surge in fraud.

In this recording of a live webinar, John Bartlett and Paul Sweeney from the Pensions Regulator and Jim Gee from Crowe join Burges Salmon’s Allice Honeywill (partner) and Guy Bastable (partner) to discuss the impact of fraud and what you need to do to protect your pension scheme.

We cover:

  • The counter fraud landscape
  • An overview of the PRAG Counter Fraud Guidance
  • The latest techniques by fraudsters you need to be aware of
  • The Pensions Regulator’s expectations to counter fraud
  • What to do if you have been defrauded
  • Prosecution and financial recovery – what are your options?

We hope you will find this conversation useful and if you have any questions on the topics which were covered, please do get in touch.
