Holmleigh Care was founded in 2000 and provides essential residential care, supported living and domiciliary care services to adults with a varied range of disabilities and challenges, with specialist expertise and practical experience in helping those with complex and challenging behaviours. Holmleigh provides its services across 31 homes in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Swindon and Worcestershire.

The Burges Salmon team advising on the deal was led by Partner Richard Spink (Corporate), alongside Director Paul Doherty (Real Estate), Senior Associates Amy Carr (Corporate), Ceri Barrett (Corporate) and Rebecca Bicknell (Real Estate), Solicitor Hannah Maidment (Corporate) and Trainee Will Penfold (Corporate).

Richard Spink comments: “We are delighted to have been able to draw upon our corporate finance, real estate, tax and specialist healthcare expertise in supporting David and the team at Ludlow Street on the transaction. We wish David and the team every success in this next stage of the development of the two businesses as they  work in partnership, expanding their operations to provide further support to the country’s social care sector.

David Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer, Ludlow Street Healthcare, remarked: “When we looked for a legal partner to support us through our sale process, it was important to us that we chose a business and a team of people in whose expertise we could trust and with whom we could work on a day to day basis. The sale process was as intense as we expected but through it all we were able to rely on the commitment and professionalism of Richard and the whole team to guide and advise us at every difficult moment. The range of expertise they provided was invaluable as was their ability to provide calming and balanced advice. There is no doubt in my mind that we chose the right partner and that Burges Salmon played a major part in getting us through to a successful conclusion.”
