Richard is a senior Corporate and M&A partner.

He specialises in corporate advice, private equity, domestic and cross border mergers and acquisitions.

Richard's work focuses on complex corporate transactions and re-organisations with particular emphasis on the private equity sector. He has significant experience advising institutions, management and investee companies on buy-outs, buy-ins, development capital transactions and re-financings as well as exit events, on a domestic and cross border basis.

He is a long standing member of the firm's International Committee.


His experience includes advising:

  • the founders of Maltese based international web analytics business Hotjar on their c. $180m UK law governed exit to venture backed French/American business Contentsquare (alongside German, Spanish, US and Maltese counsel).
  • Alten, a French listed group and leader in outsourced engineering, R&D and IT, on its acquisition of UK based Methods, a leading IT services consultancy and the acquisition of Radtac from its founders.
  • Gooch & Housego, an AIM listed photonics company with major operations in the UK and US, specialising in Aerospace & Defence, Life Sciences and Industrial sectors, on numerous acquisitions including VITL (life sciences) and Spanoptics (a manufacturer of optical products).
  • shareholders of Lightfoot, a provider of telematics solutions tying engine data and other factors to driver performance, on its sale to European technology investor Volpi Capital.
  • Clarivate a NYSE global leader in provision of trusted information and insights to accelerate the pace of innovation on the UK aspects of the divestiture of MarkMonitor™, an industry-leading enterprise-level provider of domain management solutions, to Newfold Digital, supporting Blank Rome in the US.
  • LCM (with Ayache in Paris, Arnold and Porter in the US) on the sale of its brokerage business in France, US and UK to TPICAP.
