Samir Younes Associate

Samir is an associate in the Banking and Finance team, based in the firm’s Edinburgh office. Samir has advised lenders and borrowers in relation to bilateral and syndicated facility and associated security products. He has gained experience in a range of areas such as real estate finance, project finance, leveraged finance and general corporate banking. Samir has significant experience working on transactions with cross-border and international elements.

• Acting for abrdn in relation to their senior secured financing of a portfolio of seven multi-let office investments and an industrial estate located in England and Scotland managed by Commercial Estates Group.

• Advising Oxygen Conservation in respect of a multi-million pound loan facility made by Triodos Bank UK, marking what is believed to be the largest conservation focused commercial debt package in the UK to date.

• Acting for HSBC on a £18.5m refinancing to AIM-listed hospitability business, Safestay plc, that owns and operates an international brand of contemporary hostels.

• Advising a club of lenders comprising Santander UK, Triple Point and Rabobank on their combined financing of up to £70m to support the development and construction of two battery energy storage plants in the UK, owned by global clean energy enterprise TagEnergy.

• Acting for Investec Bank on the senior secured term loan facilities made available to SWEN Impact Fund for Transition (SWIFT) for the purpose of financing its investment in a portfolio of anaerobic digestion (AD) assets in the UK.

• Advising on a £35.9m facility agreement to refinance the acquisition of five state-of-the-art care homes in the UK, who will be managed by Rynda Healthcare.
