Overview
Rebecca qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2018. She joined Burges Salmon in September 2022.

Rebecca has experience advising clients on contentious and non-contentious employment law and HR issues. She advises clients in both the public and private sectors and is valued for her responsive and commercial approach, as well as her ability to offer pragmatic solutions. She works closely with corporate colleagues to manage business transfers and restructuring programs, and to advise on the employment aspects of projects such as due diligence, indemnity and warranty protections, redundancy, and collective consultation. Rebecca has experience defending clients against discrimination, unfair dismissal, harassment, and victimisation claims.

Rebecca is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and an Employment Lawyers Association Junior Committee Member.



Experience
  • Acting for a global gaming company to advise on the employment aspects of various acquisitions. Involved in undertaking extensive employment due diligence, drafting and negotiating the employment provisions of corporate documents, and negotiating the terms of service agreements and bonus arrangements for key employees.
  • Providing employment support to university clients. Including defending a variety of claims in the employment tribunal including unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, and race discrimination.
  • Advising an international PLC on all stages of a large scale collective redundancy process.
  • Advising a high profile drinks brand on employment matters, including defending claims in the employment tribunal.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment and HR documentation for clients in the public and private sector.
  • Providing pro bono legal advice to individuals through the Citizens Advice Bureau legal clinics.
