Oliwia qualified in August 2023 and joined Burges Salmon’s Corporate and M&A team in September 2025.
She has hands-on experience in high value, complex cross-border corporate transactions within the energy sector, advising both private and public companies (including state-owned enterprises) on energy-related matters across the UK, EU, Africa, Asia, Middle East, Australia and South America.
Experience
- Sapura Energy Berhad (now Vantris Energy): Advised on a 756.9M sale of its 50% stake in SapuraOMV (upstream oil & gas group) to TotalEnergies (recognised as Deal of the Year at ALB Malaysia Law Awards and APAC Energy Awards).
- Advised on structural changes and corporate governance for a consortium operating a major oil field in the Middle East.
- Advised on a complex energy joint venture dispute, including interpreting shareholder and joint operating agreements, and providing governance advice on pre-emption rights and shareholder conflict management for a major Asian oil and gas company.
- Advised on a Saudi investment in a Polish drone manufacturing company, and the establishment of a Saudi-based joint venture between the parties.
- Advised on the sale of a UK boat manufacturing business.
- Advised on a $600M dispute relating to a significant African energy project, including analysing complex power purchase, transmission and escrow agreements.
