If it’s right for our clients, our business and for you, we’ll support you with flexible working and part-time working wherever possible.
We’ll provide you with comprehensive training opportunities to help you grow and develop throughout your career with us. We offer instructor-led courses covering a range of topics and skills, as well as a variety of learning resources.
We have a brilliant Learning & Development team that manages our skills curriculum and can support you with the training you’re looking for. We also have digital learning platforms so you can take charge of your own skills development.
Supporting your personal and professional development is our top priority. In addition to the support you’ll receive from our in-house Learning & Development team, you’ll have the opportunity to complete external courses and qualifications that are relevant to your role.
We also offer language classes for a variety of abilities that are open to everyone. These include French, German, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin.
We want to have a positive impact in our communities, and we encourage and support our people to take part in volunteering opportunities – nearly 60% of them do! Everyone can take two paid volunteering days per year.
We can help you find initiatives and organisations to support as an individual and in teams, but you can also do something you’re passionate about through your own connections.
Our Bristol office, One Glass Wharf, is located at the heart of the Temple Quay area of Bristol, only five minutes from Temple Meads station and a short walk into the town centre. The building was designed especially for us and is one of central Bristol’s most eco-friendly buildings.
We opened our Edinburgh office in May 2019. Located in the Exchange District, we’re based in the heart of the city’s leading financial and business centre. The office, Atria One, is BREEAM rated ‘Excellent’ and you will be within walking distance of Edinburgh’s cultural venues, shopping and an abundance of eating options, from sandwich bars to fine dining.
To support our people who either walk, run or cycle to work, we provide on-site bike racks and shower facilities to make it easier for you to incorporate exercise into your daily routine.
We use the Cycle to Work scheme, which means you can make big savings when purchasing a new bike and pay for it in instalments via a tax-free salary sacrifice.
Our social club, BSocial, is open to everyone and offers members a wide range of discounts on theatre, cinema and sports activities. BSocial also organises other events and trips away. Recent events have included wine and cheese tasting, bread making, cupcake decorating, weekend trips to London, a Belgium Beer Festival and make-up tutorials.
There are running, football and hockey clubs to join, as well as Pilates, yoga and circuits classes available at the office. There is even a board game club for those with more relaxed leisure pursuits!
Our Summer Party is a key event on the Burges Salmon calendar. In the past we have been to M-Shed, had an indoor fairground complete with dodgem cars and a Las Vegas themed ball.
