About

Jacob is an Australian qualified associate in the firm’s Construction & Engineering team, having joined the firm in late 2024. He has advised on a variety of non-contentious transactional projects, has extensive project advisory experience assisting proactive dispute avoidance, but he specializes in contentious construction work.

Jacob has experience in all types of construction dispute (including adjudication, litigation and international arbitration) with a focus on matters which are high value, pressured and complex.

During his career, Jacob has had experience in a variety of sectors and issues including infrastructure, transport, commercial and residential development, renewable energy and building safety.

Experience

  • International energy company: Defended our client in undertaking the construction of a UK nuclear facility in an adjudication against a contractor under an NEC3 Option D form of contract.
  • International energy company: Defended our client in a claim under a fuel supply agreement for an energy from waste plant.
  • UK renewable energy company: Advising on a portfolio of battery storage projects during construction delivery.
  • Nation rail operator: Advising on the commercial settlement of a dispute under a bespoke form of contract.
